I wanted to create something that had an ethereal feel of the Indian Summer but still rocked out with a classic edge. The Apache Oversized Shirt is just that. It’s ALL about the flow and feel of this piece that makes it special, but it’s the details that finish it off to fit in with the entire collection. The black cuffs and heavy brass zipper bring it back to Earth while the light and flowing lines make you feel like you could float away…

Style Talk: Azuki Arizona Shirt

The Arizona Shirt is my personal favourite! It’s actually the first design I sketched for the collection. The best thing is the versatility as you can wear it a bunch of different ways. It’s a longer style shirt so it’s great over a pair of black leather leggings or jeans for a fresh twist. The racer back means you’ll look incredible with hair up and for something more sassy go for a ‘tux’ styled look (tucked into high-waited bottoms).

It also comes in black and with the leatherette collar detail you can go classy or rock’n’roll.

Must have for: Friday nights out

Style tip: Try a larger size and wear it as a dress!

Blogging Heaven with Morgan

We had fun at the Azuki showroom yesterday as this season’s guest designer musician Morgan Joanel hosted a viewing for some of her favourite bloggers, stylists and friends. It was great to see the collection get such a fantastic response. We also loved checking out the bloggers’ style, from Darren’s brilliantly coloured tee to April’s cute boots and Chip’s incredible feather earring.

Style Talk: Azuki Charm Tee

I love a good print tee, something you can throw on over jeans or bathers after a swim and the Azuki Charm Tee tee is perfect for this summer’s festivals or a casual day out. I also love to team this with a pair of black leather pants and killer leopard print heels for something a little more electric!

This design came from a pencil sketch I did then finished off with some graphic touches and lyrics from my songs. The inspiration of catching dreams filled with feathers and skulls comes from the music I’ve been creating most recently. To me, the image evokes childlike naivety juxtaposed with the darkness of chasing the dream itself…

Style Talk: Azuki Empire Jacket

The little Azuki Empire Jacket is one of those things you want in your wardrobe all year round. When designing it I was thinking of summer evenings, having cocktails at a bar by the beach, watching the sun set. It’s the perfect accessory for our Australian summers when the breeze picks up but you don’t need a full jacket. The details of the mid-cut, brass zipper pockets and stiff collar allow it be versatile no matter the mood you’re in. Go sweet with a summer maxi and flats or edgy with a black band t-shirt and high waisted jeans.

Must have for: Sunday afternoon drinks
